AXIS Neuromonitoring is committed to serving and advancing the intraoperative neuromonitoring industry. In July, AXIS hosted its Summer Seminar at the Courtyard Houston Kingwood Hotel in Kingwood, Texas, offering educational sessions to advance the skills of technologists and billing professionals. The technologist section of the seminar focused on current and developing practice guidelines, the result of methodological research used to generate the best pre-, intra- and post-operative outcomes for the patient and surgical team. While the billing section of the seminar focused on a wide range of topics from balanced billing to fraud and abuse. All presenters provided seminar attendees with best-practice guidance to enhance patient care and strengthen knowledge of the IONM industry.

On Saturday, July 9, technologists and billing professionals from IONM companies attended presentations on topics related to the fast-changing industry of intraoperative neuromonitoring. Attendees earned credits for the education they received.

“It was important for us to be able to share this kind of deep knowledge and experience with the industry,” said Peguy Luma, Director of Education at AXIS. “We were excited to open the seminar up to outside attendees to share our passion for education with other IONM companies.”

Sunday, July 10, was devoted to a day of AXIS internal training. Presentations included those from AXIS staff members as well as three industry experts, all of whom offered best practices for AXIS employees. Staff members also participated in team-building exercises, staff development training, and case reviews.
