AXIS Welcomes Dr. Jahangiri

We are proud to introduce our newest doctor, Faisal Jahangiri, who will be taking on the role of Vice President of Clinical Affairs at AXIS Neuromonitoring.
ABOUT DR. JAHANGIRI
After completing medical school and his residencies in general surgery and radiology at Khyber Medical College in Pakistan, Dr. Jahangiri chose Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) in Cleveland, OH, for his graduate studies. There he focused on biomedical engineering and researched functional electrical stimulation (FES), EEG and skull-base imaging. After earning his D.ABNM in 2003, he was then awarded fellowship of the American Society of Neurophysiological Monitoring in 2013.
Areas of expertise include: intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IONM), electroencephalography (EEG), clinical evoked potentials, research onsite/real-time training, electrocorticography, language mapping, cortical and functional mapping, transcranial Doppler (TCD), brachial plexus repairs, hip/acetabular and selective rhizotomy procedures.
Dr. Jahangiri is passionate about education and training and has multiple publications; including a textbook (“Surgical Neurophysiology”) as well as a series of educational supplements and training tools on Intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring. He is frequently invited to national and international meetings as a guest speaker.
Actively involved in IONM philanthropic efforts, Dr. Jahangiri participates in charitable surgeries and programs around the world with the objective goal of educating underprivileged countries on the topic of IONM.
Finally, and of utmost importance to Dr. Jahangiri, is his family. He, his wife and children are eagerly anticipating the move to Dallas and are very excited about becoming Texans!

Over the last twenty years, Dr. Jahangiri has worked as a senior clinical neurophysiologist and trainer for Intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring companies in the U.S. He has supervised over 8,000 procedures in over 300 hospitals in the U.S.

JAHANGIRI’S ROLE WITH AXIS
As the VP of Clinical Affairs, Dr. Jahangiri will develop customized programs for surgeons and hospital-based specialty groups. That includes lateral spine procedures, scoliosis programs, hip replacements, tibial/fibular osteotomies, peripheral nerve procedures, parotid/thyroid surgeries, carotid endarterectomies, selective dorsal root rhizotomies, Neurosurgical centers with computer guidance, MRI and other advanced imaging programs, vascular and IR suite programs, and much more.
