Apple Watch to Detect Atrial Fibrillation

Apple has partnered with Stanford University to create an app for the latest iWatch that can hopefully detect heart irregularities. Together, they’re launching a study to see if the app can indeed help patients.
The Apple Heart Study app uses existing iWatch technology to monitor both heart rate and blood flow in the wrists. With this data, the app can alert users if something is amiss, even assisting with scheduling a free consultation with a study doctor and obtaining an EKG patch for further monitoring.
