Bipartisan Hearings on Healthcare
By Admin | August 09, 2017
The Senate Health Committee is reserving the first week in September for bipartisan hearings in order to strengthen the individual healthcare marketplace.
Insurers must finalize the cost of their premiums by the end of the month, and panel hopes to craft a short-term proposal so Americans won’t lose coverage as non-group insurance may not be available in all areas.
The committee will meet with insurance commissioners, patients, insurance companies, governors, and healthcare experts in order to draw up a practical solution to benefit the most people.
Two senators leading the committee are Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) and Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.), both of whom have worked together before on previous legislation.
