No hand shaking here

Can the spread of disease be curbed by not shaking hands? UCLA hospitals are going to find out. Handshakes were banned in neonatal intensive care wards at two of their hospitals in an effort to keep infections from spreading.
Staffs were educated on the new policy, signs were hung, and handshakes went by the wayside.
But did the removal of hand-to-hand greetings make a difference? No, however, doctors feel that it did draw attention to the importance of how germy hands can be.
Critics feel that removing hand shaking may make people more lenient when it comes to hand washing.
