Renewing 1115 Transformation Waiver

Rather than pursuing Medicaid expansion, the Texas State Health Committee has decided to prioritize the renewal of the 1115 Transformation Waiver, which was originally set to expire.
A commissioned study reported that 115 assisted with paying over half of unpaid medical bills, dropping the amount from $8.7 billion to $4. It also claims that a Medicaid expansion would only offset hospital costs by $358 million.
