By Admin | August 20, 2018
In 2008, the American Association of Neurological Surgeons developed the NeuroPoint Alliance to improve the quality of neurosurgical care. The database is a central registry for members to track acquisitions, analysis and clinical data reporting.
Here are five things to know about the nonprofit organization:
1. NPA helps members satisfy public reporting requirements for various programs, including the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System and Maintenance of Certification. The organization also offers members data on the Quality Outcomes Database.
2. The American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Neurosurgery Research and Education Foundation and Congress of Neurological Surgeons, among others, support NPA.
3. In July, NPA welcomed Cincinnati-based Mayfield Brain & Spine to its Quality Outcomes Database Spine program. Currently, more than 100 centers participate in the program, with more than 90,000 patients enrolled in the spine registry.
