UnitedHealth Group shareholders reject health equity audit, political lobbying proposals

In a wide margin, UnitedHealth Group shareholders have rejected three proposals that revolved around health equity efforts, political donations and how much severance executives receive when they leave the company, according to regulatory filings published June 9.
All three proposals were shareholder-submitted. The final vote counts confirmed preliminary results that occurred June 5 at UnitedHealth's annual shareholders meeting.
The first proposal sought to implement a third-party racial equity audit, including an analysis on the racial makeup of company executives and further vetting of algorithms and how they refer patients to care across racial lines.
